BRIANNA QUIJADA (Carmen)*
An Arizona native, Brianna made the move to NYC two years ago and looks back everyday.  What can she say?  It's rough surviving in this city!  Yet she has loved every minute of it.  Brianna is immensely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of PHOENIX RISING.  Thank you to Laura and Daniel and to all her Phoenix bird friends!  Love you, Adan!

Personal statement:
I knew early on in the rehearsal process that we were going to be challenged in ways that we have never been before.  In order to be able tell the stories of these young women, we were asked to travel to the deepest and darkest recesses of our psyche and to connect to our own feelings of shame, abandonment, and helplessness.  Many times the feelings of despair and solitude were so great that finding the light seemed impossible, but
it was then that my fellow Phoenix sisters offered their hearts to lift me up and to show they are there with me.  My hope is that through PHOENIX RISING we are able to offer the same to others.
